Healthy Snacks For Runners

With regards to bites, runners and moms are pretty much experts. Moms, naturally, have to keep snacks at all times. Not just for their hungry small offspring, but for themselves since bites generally become some sort of meal replacement during their busy lives. Runners, and on the other hand, are also busy, but additionally always HANGRY. Meaning that they've likely eaten breakfast, another breakfast, lunch, a lunch, snack, snack and after that dinner followed by.a snack. Being I'm a runner AND a mother, I'm pretty much a snack guru now. Not only am I ALWAYS busy, but I'm ALWAYS hungry so having something that's portable, healthful, gratifying AND gluten-free diet is essential.

Over the last several years I've thoroughly analyzed more snacks than I could possibly remember, but I do need my favorites that I maintain my pantry stocked and for that to happen, they've to meet certain standards. One, they clearly need to be gluten-free diet. Two, they've to be free from any added crap including sugars. They also need to be dairy-free, soybean free and have some type of protein. Oh, and they've to taste good and assist me to refuel while being on the run. While not many needs made the cut, here are those I never leave home without.

RXBAR - If you aren't knowledgeable about the RXBAR then do your self a favor and give it a try. They're a whole food energy bar that actually comprises what's says on the tag and no other BS that it also says on the label. I was fortunate enough to need a bunch sent back to me in the summer and immediately fell in love.
